As libraries have been moving their technology solutions to cloud hosted Software-as-a-Service based services as well as begin to look at the RA21 initiative as becoming a new standard model for authenticating patrons to publisher platforms, libraries have been asking what this means for patron privacy and even more, how will a library implementation this new technology? Because proxy servers have been the target for cyber-attacks, keeping our patron data and infrastructure secure is becoming more and more critical and more and more difficult. In this session you will learn more about what RA21 is, what SAML technology is and how it is replacing IP Authentication, and how the OpenAthens solution can help your library prepare for this upcoming transition for how patrons will access content on publisher platforms.
